Notebook, pen and NDIS documents prepared for a support coordination meeting

Your first meeting with a support coordinator is a chance to get to know each other and start planning. A little preparation can help you feel confident and make the most of your time together.

Helpful things to bring

  • A copy of your NDIS plan (if you have one handy)
  • Any goals you would like to work towards
  • Details of supports or providers you already use
  • Questions you would like answered
  • A support person, family member or carer if you would like one

Think about your goals

It helps to think about what a good life looks like for you. Your goals might be about independence, connection, health and wellbeing, or trying something new. There are no wrong answers — your coordinator is there to help you turn your goals into practical supports.

It is a conversation, not a test

Remember, this is a relaxed conversation. You do not need to have everything figured out. A good coordinator will guide the discussion and make sure you feel heard and comfortable.
